Can't Believe It's Almost Over
But we're just getting started. Wild East is knee deep in 30 for 30.
Righty: Now that you’re knee-deep into the 30 for 30 campaign, how has the ride been?
Jah: It's been more than I could've anticipated, in terms of work ethic, feedback, and inspiration. It only makes me want to bunker down and make more…
Ra: it’s dropping and promoting has been smooth however content creation needs to be the next hump that we must get over.
Kodi: It’s been a smooth ride in terms of our consistency in putting songs out.
Righty: How are you staying committed to the process?
Jah: The process is daily, there's always something to do and it keeps us engaged. I think it does the same for the listeners.
Righty: How many demos have you made together over the years?
Ra: we’ve definitely made over a thousand even more if you count when we recorded before we were “wild east”
Jah: More than any of us can count that’s for sure…
Righty: Typically, how long does it take to lay down a full idea?
Jah: I feel like the idea is never fully realized, we just agree on a point that feels good enough to stop. But even then things can be worked on.
Kodi: It varies from time to time. Sometimes it’s 5 minutes. Sometimes it’s 5 hours. Sometimes it’s 5 days. I would say on average it takes us about 2 hours to lay down a full idea.
Righty: What’s a lesson you’ve learned in these first weeks about releasing the demos?
Ra: Always thinking 3 steps ahead.
Righty: What’s been the most challenging thing to date in regards to creating music?
Kodi: My biggest challenge pertaining to the creation of music is overthinking, which leads to lack of inspiration sometimes. There will be days or weeks where I just feel like I have nothing creative to offer.
